Who We Are
Whether you have an interest in traditional boat building, messing about in small boats, or helping to preserve our maritime heritage -- come join us and share the camaraderie of kindred spirits. We invite you to attend one of our meetings, go for a row, or help with our next boat building project.
We are a chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association, Inc., a nonprofit educational organization working to preserve and continue the living traditions, skills, lore, and legends surrounding working and pleasure watercraft whose origins predate the marine gasoline engine.
Our chapter is named after John Gardner, who was the former curator of small craft at Mystic Seaport. He was the founder of the boat building classes at the museum and introduced thousands of people to traditional small wooden boat building skills.
